Hello Friends, today I wanted to share with you my finished blankets for Warm Up America. Warm Up America is an Organization that Donates Blankets and Clothes to those in need. In making blankets for them, you can either make (crochet/knit) 7 by 9 squares, make full sized blankets, or have 7 by 9 squares sent you and you can put them together. In March, I requested to have a box of 500 squares sent to me to put together to make blankets. When WUA sends you a box of Knit/Crochet Squares they request that you make a minimum donation of $40.00 to help with shipping costs. If you can’t afford this, you can get help with having the shipping costs covered through their organization. To help this organization, I made a $50.00 donation to them as well as putting these squares together to make blankets. When you’re done putting the blankets together you can either send back to them or donate locally. From the 500 squares that I was sent, I made 13 blankets in total. Today, July 29th, I donated them to a local church and they will be given out to those in need. I really enjoyed putting together these squares and making the blankets. I’m always trying to find new organizations that I can help out with my crochet work and I’m happy that I found this one and that I helped them. Below I will add pictures of the 13 blankets that I made from my squares for Warm Up America. I will also leave the link to Warm Up America’s website where you can learn more about their organization and what they do.
In addition to the 13 blankets that I made for WUA and donated to a local church, I also donated yarn to this church’s crochet group. Their crochet group makes items to donate locally in my township to different organizations and I wanted to share some of my yarns with them. I will also add pictures of all of the yarns that I gave as a donation.
